Welcome to the Black Hills Youth Football and Cheer League (BHYFL) – Football! Whether you are new, or returning, we are excited that you have chosen to be part of our Youth Tackle Football Program.
New Season. New Team. One Dream.
Youth tackle football teaches these young athletes accountability, leadership, and the impact of positive sportsmanship. These young football players learn that every position has a purpose. They learn how to properly execute a play. They will learn responsibility while working as a team to fufill a common goal. This is just as valuable on the field as it is off the field. Tackle Football is very much a team sport.
All football coaches with the BHYFL, take courses to become a certified coach with ‘'USA Football and the league runs background checks on each coach to ensure that our children are in a safe and comfortable environment while learning and growing as a team.
During the season each athelete will learn the fundamentals and values of being on a football team. Most importantly, football players need to learn that they are valued, and know that they can win with grace and lose with dignity. Atheletes need to show up ready and eager to learn. “Some wish for it, Champions work for it.” Win or lose, as long as you have done everything you can and leave it on that field, you are a champion! That requires celebration.
Football players will be required to practice with their teams on the designated days/times that are set within the association. Games will be on Saturdays and schedules will be released closer to that timeframe. The season will end with playoffs, and then….the BHYFL Football Championships!
The fees that are collected during registration will cover ….. Parents may also be required to pay other costs depending on the association’s requirements. The is to include, but not limited to, a volunteer deposit. All Football Players will need to have a sport physical before they will be able to practice. This will need to be given to the associations during the recertifications. This will occur towards the end of summer, right before the season is set to start. The associations will also collect a copy of the athlete’s birth certificate, recent photo, and most recent report card.
